Frequently Asked Questions
EMDR Therapy is covered by insurance! We are currently in-network with the following plans: Harvard Pilgrim, United Healthcare, Optum, Cigna, Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield, and Medicare (no supplements or replacement plans).
We are also happy to provide receipts to get reimbursed if we do not take your insurance.
Rates for individual sessions range from $100-180 per session.
Most clients average between 7-12 EMDR sessions based on the severity of symptoms. We strive to provide only the most effective therapies. Our clients often experience symptom relief in just 1-2 sessions!
We also offer INTENSIVE THERAPY packages for those clients who are seeking to heal faster. Our intensive therapy packages are typically pre-paid and include 8 hours of EMDR Therapy which can be completed over the course of 1-4 weeks depending on preference. 95% of the clients who complete our intensive programs never require therapy again! If you are interested in learning more about this option, please email Sonya@carenh.com to discuss availability.
Not only will EMDR therapy save you time and money, it will save you years of suffering! 95% of our clients “graduate” and never require therapy again.
When talk therapy isn’t delivering the results you want, we can help!
You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical and mental health care will cost.
Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services.
You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services.
You can ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service.
If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.
For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises.
We require a 24 hour cancellation notice for 60 min sessions and at least 3 days cancellation notice for sessions longer than 60 mins. If proper cancellation notice is not provided, you will be charged a late cancellation fee up to the full amount of your session fee. The reason for this policy is that the appointment time is being held specifically for you. If you provide less than 24 hours’ notice, we cannot offer that slot to someone else.
We consider EMDR to be a “power therapy” and “game-changer” in the mental health world. Over 25 years of research has proven that this therapy helps people resolve issues of many kinds, much more quickly than any other therapy. And the best part is, the healing actually “sticks.”
The length of therapy depends on the type and severity of your symptoms as well as your life situation, beliefs, values, and expectations. Since you are provided with tools and information right away, you can experience short-term symptoms relief while working toward long-term results and change. Many patients start to experience significant symptom relief after just 1-3 sessions. Most of our clients average only 7 EMDR Therapy sessions and their goals are met.
