“What if I need to change therapists… and that means I’m giving up on them? Or worse—hurting them?”
Let’s clear something up right away.
Changing therapists does not mean your therapist is bad.
It does not mean you failed therapy.
And it definitely does not mean you’re “too much.”
Sometimes, it simply means therapy has become stagnant—and a fresh perspective is exactly what’s needed.

Moving on doesn’t erase the value of what came before—it simply honors where you are now.
Let’s be very clear about this:
You are never too much for needing progress.
You are never wrong for wanting clarity.
You are never selfish for choosing what helps you move forward.
Sometimes the most self-respecting thing you can do is say:
“This helped me for a while… and now I’m ready for a different perspective.”
That’s not failure.
That’s growth.
The goal of therapy isn’t to stay comfortable forever.
It’s to support movement, clarity, and freedom.
And sometimes, the healthiest step forward is simply a new set of eyes—on the same story you’ve already been brave enough to tell.
